BlinkAdapt, a group of individuals conducting research and development into, among many things touch/gesture based technology. Currently consisting of final year degree students enrolled onto the Digital Art & Technology programme at the University of Plymouth we are embarking of our first project the ShockCube³.

Utilising a large multi-touch surface, multiple electrodes and an entertaining array of mini-games we propose to create an engaging game environment featuring haptic pain feedback. The idea is for each player to be outfitted with multiple electrodes throughout the body and as this player successfully navigates through the various challenges his/her opponents are physically shocked. The experience of beating your opponent physically rather than virtually should make for interesting gameplay.
